No - it’s not about the consumption of a yummy fruit that is harvested in the cool fall weather of the Pacific Northwest. It’s about the tech devices. Starting in January 2013, I will be co-hosting an Apple (computer) user group. Sample topics will include iPhone/iPad/iPod applications and their use, Macintosh, software, security, and more. For me, I’ve been using Apple products since the late 70’s (Apple II), progressed to Macintosh, and first owned one myself in 1992. History buffs - it was a Macintosh SE/30. Along the way, I’ve owned dozens of different tech products of this nature, including Commodore (Amiga 500), Mac, and PC products. I counted it up one day and it was an embarrassingly large number. Much has changed over the years, and Apple was instrumental in most recently revolutionizing the mobile music and cellular industry.
The intent of this gathering is all about helping folks out, free of charge, on “All things Apple” in a light and engaging way and hopefully making some friends along the way. Oh - and while the focus is on Apple products, I’ve also spent a great deal of time utilizing PC/Windows, video editing (PC & Mac), web development, database development, building PCs from scratch and so forth. We’ll be sure to keep the sessions engaging and balanced.
